The printmaking process

This linoprint is created through a meticulous three-step handmade process:

  1. Sketching: Each illustration starts as a hand-drawn design
  2. Engraving: The image is carefully carved into a linoleum plate
  3. Printing: Ink is applied, and the design is hand-pressed onto paper

Because of this handmade process, slight variations and ink marks on the back of the paper are normal, making every piece one of a kind.

I was worried about the item being shipped from the US to Europe, but there was no issue with customs and the print arrived on time and as described. I used to live in Kennedy Town, so for me to have an original artwork with the iconic banyan tree roots is a lovely reminder of the contrasting esthetics of Hong Kong, and what makes this city so attractive.
