This handmade two-color linoprint captures a vibrant scene along East Broadway in Manhattan's Lower East Side. The Forward Building, a Beaux-Arts landmark at 175 East Broadway, stands prominently surrounded by classic New York brownstones adorned with fire escapes and water towers, reflecting the architectural charm of the area. Street lamps illuminate the avenue, and a building with Chinese characters hints at the proximity to Chinatown, showcasing the neighborhood's cultural diversity. Lush foliage frames the scene, giving the cityscape a jungle-like feel.

The printmaking process
This linoprint is created through a meticulous three-step handmade process:
- Sketching: Each illustration starts as a hand-drawn design
- Engraving: The image is carefully carved into a linoleum plate
- Printing: Ink is applied, and the design is hand-pressed onto paper
Because of this handmade process, slight variations and ink marks on the back of the paper are normal, making every piece one of a kind.
